BMW 3-Series GT To Be Killed Off By 2020

While  the 5-Series GranTurismo successfully pupated into the 6-Series GranTurismo (and did a workout on the way to gain a rather pretty rump), the 3-GT won't gain a second-wind by moving into the 4-Series range. Dismal sales is likely the cause of this (though  BMWBlog didn't say much else), and really, with the 4-Series GranCoupe set to go into a new generation in 2020 as well, buyers looking for a BMW with frameless doors and a hatchback will be well serviced. And everyone else can buy a BMW X3.

Actually, about the new-generation 4-Series GranCoupe. Not only will it be brought into a second-generation in 2020, but there are rumours circulating that it may share underpinnings and/or aesthetics with BMW's all-electric i4 saloon. Now these are just rumours at this point so there isn't much else to report, so we'll have to wait and see if they turn into reality.
